I starting to realize a patteren with drifting. it's either an 240sx, AE86 or a mustang or viper. What I want to see is more of a different cars getting side ways like what bubba drift did in his elcamino. What cars, or trucks do you think would make for poteintal drift cars.

I have seen some one drift in a civic before. Funny stuff. Matter as fact one of the oldest drifters from back in the day drifted in a Honda CRX I think. He was japanese. I'm not sayng they are the best for the job. I would go with a Gen 2 or 3 Mazda RX-7. Me, I'm getting a 350Z. I don't care how many people have them. I can make mine unique. I look at a stock car as if it is a blank canvas and paint my own picture of what I want it to run and look like.

Well those cars are popular because they are easy to drift. In drifting there more less two kinds of drifters. You have one type that would rather go with tried and true method, and begin drifting rather quickly as a result. Then you have the explorer's who go out and find cars that haven't been drifted before by any one. This approach at times take's a bit longer to get the car dial in because little or no research and development.

Older BMW 3-Series cars are decent. Fairly affordable, lots of replacement parts, not too heavy, RWD, decent aftermarket.

3rd gen F-Bodies for the same reasons, except they are heavy (but the torque helps make up for it).

While the Miata CAN be turned into a drift car, it's wheelbase is awfully short. And the combination of short wheelbase with your idea of a big power increase, and it will look like an AW11 out there. Snap oversteer.

But anyway, yeah a Miata has the potential to be used for drifting. But it's so much more easily set up to be the perfect car for autocross and smaller road courses.

Haha, I love Miatas. Awesome little cars, and very under-rated. Like I said, they definitely can be made into drift cars, but they certainly wouldn't be an easy start for someone trying to get into drifting for the first time.
